Ina-Garten

Ina Garten has been a popular American cook book author for many seasons. Ina is also the Emmy-winning host of Food Networks longest running show Barefoot Contessa, which started in 2002. Ina Garten began her professional career at the White House where she wrote nuclear energy policies and budget documents. Though she found the career to be stimulating intellectually, eventually she lost her interest in it and purchased a small specialty store called Barefoot Contessa. The store was very successful for 18 years, until she decided to sell it. Then she began writing her first cookbook. Numerous magazines and cookbooks came later. Her Food Network television program also began and rapidly gained popularity. Additionally, she sells items that range from food items to storage containers and other equipment. Ina is not a student at any cooking school, nor had a job in a restaurant. She is completely self-taught. Her relaxed approach to entertaining and her straightforward culinary style is widely known. Her most popular recipes include Skillet-Roasted lemon chicken, Beatty's Chocolate Cake Mac & Cheese Beef Bouguignon, the Balsamic Roasted Brussels Sprouts & Lemon Bars.
