Luciana Paoluzzi was born in Rome, where she was raised by both her parents. Luciana Paoluzzi had a father who is a retired Italian soldier and an mother Maria Rota Paoluzzi. She was also a mistress to Benito Mussolini. It is not known if she had having siblings. Luciana attended the local high school, and, after graduation in 1955, was a student at the Naval Engineering department of the Scientific Academy of Milan. It was her only female in her class. Within two years she started her modeling career. Soon after, she had the opportunity to appear in Three Coins in the Fountain during a trip to Rome visiting a close friend of her father. Brett Halsey is an actress who became her husband in the beginning. They made Return to the Peyton Palace together after their 1960 wedding.
